Closure

David Karnick, my brother-in-law, died from complications due to AIDS in 1994 at the age of twenty eight. During his illness David became involved with ACT, Aids Committee of Toronto, helping ease the pain of others and educating himself in treatments and care for HIV and AIDS patients. Believing everyone deserves the best care David co-wrote the information brouchure, You and your Doctor.
David's personal and business life offered many opportunities for travel Whatever the reason, travel with David was always an experience to remember. His desire for travel lead to my European vacation this past spring.
David wished to be cremated on his death with half of his ashes to be buried next to his mother and the rest to be scattered in open water off Copenhagen in the Kattegat, in hopes they will drift north to the Skagerrak into ocean currents and travel the world forever. After many years of planning, canceling, nephews growing up and rescheduling, David's family and best friend Bill with partner William and friend Ed brought David's final wish to fruition.

A canal boat I had admired while it was moored a day earlier, motors by. Watch for the duck...it is very subtle.

De kleinste keuken met de grootste smaak

Ponte Arcari is a tiny caffe ristorante at Herengracht 534, Amsterdam. The smallest kitchen with the largest taste. A reservation is a good idea, but it is worth the wait for one of the few tables. The food is excellent with great service and a wonderful atmosphere.
